Overview

Community Boards are mandated by the New York City Charter (SS2800), and function as the local governmental entity that provides neighborhood-level services. The Board also plays an important advisory role in Land Use and Zoning matters, the City Budget, and further works to coordinate the delivery of municipal services. In addition, CB7 acts as an intermediary between the Upper West Side and the City’s other governmental entities to effectuate meaningful change through advocacy and development of policy recommendations from the ground up.

Community Board 7 is comprised of fifty volunteer members appointed by the Manhattan Borough President, twenty-five of whom are selected by the three Council Members representing our district. All of our board members live, work, or otherwise have a vested interest in our community.
